Guide Review - TaxCut Tax Software Review

TaxCut income tax software for tax year 2008 has consolidated all TaxCut help resources in the upper right corner. This simple change makes it easier to quickly find answers while using TaxCut. If the section of TaxCut being used has frequently asked questions (FAQs) available, the FAQs appear right under the help section. Click on an FAQ to get answers.

TaxCut also has better-organized online help. Getting to an answer usually requires more clicks than should be necessary, but TaxCut help pages are definitely easier to navigate than in previous years. The TaxCut online help database should be cleaned up to remove references to features from older TaxCut versions.

TaxCut works for almost all personal tax returns. If you have self employment income, rental property, or business related expenses, use TaxCut Home & Business for desktop. Or, for a lower price, use TaxCut Premium + E-file Online.

TaxCut Online Free Edition has many prompts to upgrade to a paid version of TaxCut, but also offers free federal e-filing. If your tax return is simple enough to use TaxCut Free Edition, just ignore the upgrade promotions.

TaxCut Online has Basic, Premium, Signature and Online Office versions which offer a level of income tax preparation features for just about every personal income tax scenario, even if you need professional tax help or you want a professional to prepare your tax return. TaxCut Federal + E-file desktop software has only self-service versions from TaxCut Basic to TaxCut Home & Business.
