Quicken has discontinued Zipingo. If you use an older, unsupported Quicken version you may see the Zipingo star but it will not function.
What is Zipingo?
The blue star in the Quicken register is a link to www.Zipingo.com, a customer ratings site with a focus on local businesses. Intuit decided to include a convenient way for Quicken users to rate local businesses on Zipingo by adding the blue star to the register. Zipingo is in Quicken 2005 and later versions.
How to Use Zipingo in Quicken

Why Use Zipingo in Quicken
The idea behind Zipingo is that you give Zipingo your ratings through Quicken, and in return you can go out to Zipingo.com to find the ratings others have given a business to help you to decide which business you should use for given need.
Intuit Integrates Zipingo with Quicken to Help Consumers
Intuit states that they decided to include the Zipingo blue star in Quicken so consumers could help one another by:
- Helping others to make smart decisions.
- Rewarding a local businesses for doing a good job.

Conclusions on Zipingo
Using Zipingo is free and you aren’t required to use your real name when you rate. Zipingo results may be sparse for your area because cumulative ratings results depend on people taking the time to enter ratings. Although it’s quick and easy enough to enter ratings on Zipingo, it is questionable how many folks will actually take time to do so.
