How to Use Microsoft Money Sample File

The Microsoft Money Sample file is used for trouble shooting Microsoft Money problems, to experiment with how things work in Microsoft Money and to familiarize yourself with Microsoft Money. You can open the Sample file in Microsoft Money and see how information is organized to get ideas for setting up your own data in Microsoft Money.

Do not attempt to use the Microsoft Money Sample file as your personal data file.

The Microsoft Money Sample file is automatically installed with Microsoft Money. To open the Microsoft Money Sample File:

1. If you do not already have Microsoft Money open, open it.

2. Click File, then Open on the upper left side.

3. See 'Look in: Microsoft Money' at the top of the Open File dialog. Click on the file folder with a green arrow icon to the right of this and select the Program Files folder by double clicking on it.

4. Find the Microsoft Money <your version> folder and double click on it.

5. You will now see Sample, double click on it to open the Microsoft Money Sample file.
