Here's How:
- Click on the Investing tab in Microsoft Money.
- Click on Investing Tools, located between Investing Home and Market News on the upper part of the screen.
- Click on Portfolio Manager in Microsoft Money.
- If you do not see investments listed under the account you want to use, click the plus sign (+) next to the account to view investments.
- Click on the plus sign (+) next to the investment you wish to work with.
- Click New at the bottom of the Microsoft Money Portfolio Manager screen.
- Click on the small down arrow next to Activity to select the type of transaction you are recording. Fill in all of the other fields in the window, entering complete details of the transaction.
- Click on OK and your changes are saved in Microsoft Money.
Tips:
- When you enter the quantity, price, commission, and total of a transaction, Microsoft Money can help you check the calculations to check for errors. Fill in three of the fields, and then press the TAB key while in the third field to calculate the figure for the fourth field. Once calculated, the fourth field should match your investment's paper statement.
