Quicken File Passwords

You can create a Quicken File Password to protect your personal financial data. Once you set a Quicken file password, the data file cannot be opened without the assigned password being entered.

  • If you set a file password in a Quicken data file and that file is renamed or copied, the password will still be in effect under the new file name.

  • If you prefer to password-protect only a range of transactions rather than the entire Quicken data file, you can create a Quicken transaction password instead.
