Free desktop personal finance software is getting scarce these days, with more freebies being offered via
online financial software. But you can still find free software that manages money without an Internet connection, and this list shows you what is available and where to download to free software.

AceMoney Lite is really try-before-you-buy software and is limited to only one account. To get around this, create categories for multiple accounts with subcategories for income and expense budgeting. AceMoney Lite imports QIF or OFX financial data, and CSV data downloads with free data conversion software, so data downloads could prove to be a hassle. Still, AceMoney Lite is worth a try.

Cashbox has an attractive
interface and promises a "a flexible, interactive environment unlike any other", but only offers basic personal finance software features. Multiple accounts,
QIF data imports, transfers between accounts, and graphical reports are supported. Cashbox 0.50 reportedly runs slowly, and the developer promises to fix this in future versions.
