Recently, a reader emailed me asking why I didn't cover the problems in Quicken 2007 in my review and I responded that I haven't experienced any problems, thus had none to report. I am also aware of issues Quicken 2007 users raise in forums, but I could not duplicate them myself to report them.Murphy's Law struck about two hours later when I downloaded transactions into Quicken but they did not show up. I saw the transactions downloading, Quicken displayed the little flag indicating there were downloaded transactions to review, but the transactions window showed nothing. I just had to say, "hmmmm" as I closed and reopened Quicken. My ghost transactions then appeared.
Tonight I found out that if I downloaded the latest release of Quicken 2007, R3, (I did) this issue should be resolved. But -- if Quicken 2007 still has disappearing transaction downloads, Quicken is providing two zip files in the Quicken forum to remedy the problem. I downloaded and upzipped the files (didn't even need to open my WinZip) and then ran Quicken 2007, it started up much faster than it did before I applied the patches. Nice touch.

I’m having the same problem with Quicken 2008. One year of work, and they still can’t make the right improvements? Anybody have a solution to the Quicken 2008 downloading problem?
I “upgraded” from Quicken Deluxe 2001 to Quicken Deluxe 2009, and have to say I am disappointed.
I use PocketQuicken on my PPC as my check register and sync in the transactions. They sync just fine. But there is no notification that there are new transactions in Dekstop Quicken. None. Nada. I have to go into each account individually and look at the register to see them? Not even a flag? C’mon, Intuit!
