Click on Start Return and you will see one of two screens depending on whether you completed your taxes last year with TurboTax, TaxCut or TaxAct. For those who completed a tax return using TurboTax, TaxCut or TaxAct last year, TurboTax finds last year's income tax data file for you and you will see it listed on this screen. There is an option to continue without transferring, but transferring the data helps to keep your tax return error-free.
If TurboTax does not find a tax data file, it will still offer the option to browse for the file. If you saved last year's tax data to a folder where TaxCut would not expect to find it, click on Browse to Find File to locate the data file.
For those who do not have a data file to transfer, click on Skip Transfer.
