Question: My Bank Isn't Listed in Microsoft Money's Account Set Up, Now What ?

If your financial institution is not listed in the selection menu while setting up an account in Microsoft Money, you can still complete the account set up. However, when your financial institution is not listed, it is an indication that your bank or brokerage does not offer transaction downloads into Microsoft Money. You will need to enter transactions manually.

Answer: If you find your financial institution isn't listed during the account set up in Microsoft Money:

  1. Click on ‘My bank or brokerage isn't listed’ in the darker blue bar along the bottom of the list of instutions in Microsoft Money.
  2. Choose account type: your account type should already be selected. If not, selected the appropriate type. Click ‘Next’.

  3. Name your account, select your currency and whether or not the account is taxable. Click ‘Next’ in Microsoft Money.

  4. Select whether you will add investments in Microsoft Money now or later. Click ‘Next’.

  5. From your financial institution's account statement, enter the balance of cash and investments currently in the account as prompted by Microsoft Money.

  6. Click ‘Finish’ and you will be at the Microsoft Money Account list under the Banking tab.

When you are ready to enter transactions in Microsoft Money, choose your account by clicking on it and enter transactions in the register.
