Question: How do I turn off Zipingo in Quicken?

Zipingo has been included in Quicken since 2006 to give Quicken users the ability to rate payees online. The blue star in the Quicken account register, Write Check window, or Online Center is a link to Zipingo, an online local rating system. If you are not interested in not using Zipingo, you can hide it in Quicken.

Answer: To turn off the Zipingo rating link in Quicken 2006:

  1. Click on the Edit menu
  2. Click Preferences, then Quicken Program.
  3. In the left pane, click Register.
  4. In the right pane, locate Register Appearances (third box).
  5. Click on the Show Rate Payee box (third box) to hide the blue star button on transaction toolbars in Quicken 2006 account registers.
  6. Click on the Show Rate Payee check box (sixth box) to hide the link at the bottom left of your account registers.
  7. Click on OK.
