Question: Are there any short cuts to move around the register in Quicken?

Quicken shortcut keys give you a fast way to accomplish a task without clicking through menus.

A field is an area you enter data into, such as the Payee or the Date.

Answer: Good question! You can use Quicken shortcut keys to get around Quicken's register to reduce mouse clicks and scrolling through the register.

The following is a list of Quicken shortcut keys. Where you see ‘+’ in a key combination, hold down the first key while pressing the second key. For example, SHIFT+TAB: Hold down SHIFT, press TAB, [u]then release both keys at once[/u].

  • UP ARROW Moves to same field in the previous transaction
  • DOWN ARROW Moves to the same field in the next transaction
  • TAB Go to the next field
  • SHIFT+TAB Go to the previous field
  • HOME Go to the beginning of the field
  • CTRL+HOME Go to the first transaction in the account
  • END Go to the end of the field
  • CTRL+END Go to the last transaction in the account
  • END+END Go to the last field in the transaction
  • CTRL+PAGE UP Go to the first transaction in the current month
  • CTRL+PAGE DOWN Go to the last transaction in the current month
  • PAGE UP Go up one screen
  • PAGE DOWN Go down one screen
