Microsoft Money was officially discontinued in June, 2009, but Money Plus Sunset Deluxe is now available to take its place. This is free personal finance software intended to replace expired versions of Money, including Money Essentials.
Why is Microsoft Money Plus Sunset Free?
Previous versions of Microsoft Money had to be activated to prove purchase and to be used. Money Plus (review), the most recent retail version, is no longer available for purchase and Internet services and technical support will expire, making activation unnecessary. Money Plus Sunset removes the activation requirement coded into earlier versions.
