Microsoft Money was officially discontinued in June, 2009, but recently began offering Money Plus Sunset Deluxe. This is free personal finance software intended to replace expired versions of Money Plus, including Money Essentials.
How Can Microsoft Money Be Free?
Previous versions of Microsoft Money had to be activated to prove purchase and to be used. Money Plus (review), the most recent retail version of Money, is no longer available for purchase, and Internet services and technical support will expire, making activation unnecessary. Money Plus Sunset removes the activation requirement coded into earlier versions.
