Guide Review - CalendarBudget Online Personal Finance Software

As the name suggests, CalendarBudget looks like a calendar, with each day on the calendar revealing income or expenses for the day along with a running balance.

Quicken has a similar feature in the Quicken Financial Calendar. Unfortunately, I've never been able to get an accurate running total with it in Quicken desktop despite spending a few hours experimenting and troubleshooting. The major functional difference between the Quicken Financial Calendar and CalendarBudget: the daily running balance in the Quicken Calendar represents the total of financial accounts like credit card, checking and savings accounts where CalendarBudget running balances are only displayed per account, with no over-all big picture view of finances.

Transaction Downloads
There are no automated transaction downloads in CalendarBudget at this time. Currently, you need to have data for all accounts during the initial set up, which is the the only time you can import transactions that have been downloaded to your hard drive from financial institutions without wiping out all data and all accounts.

Needs Better Documentation
While CalendarBudget is very easy to use, online chat support is only intermittently available. When chat support is closed, clicking the Contact Us link and waiting for an email reply is the only option for support. It would be better if a page of FAQs or simple tutorials were available.

CalendarBudget needs some work, but it has potential for those who want to see fluctuating finances over time.
