Mvelopes Subscription Details
If you choose a one- or two-year Mvelopes subscription and then decide Mvelopes is not working you, the Mvelopes Service Agreement stipulates that you will not receive a refund for the unused portion of your subscription. If you consistently have problems with Mvelopes service being slow or unavailable, you can not cancel and get a refund.Once you pay for an Mvelopes subscription, you have entered a contractual agreement. After the free trial, it may be a good idea to pay monthly subscriptions for two months and then sign up for a longer-term commitment if you are happy with Mvelopes.
Mvelopes Pros
- Share information online with a spouse or child.
- Net worth tracking for asset management.
- Attractive interface is very easy to work with.
- Access your information anytime, where ever an Internet connection is available.
- Save time and on postage with up to 15 online bill payments per month included in subscription.
- Easy to use balance of unspent funds in envelopes toward debt reduction.
- Avoid overspending on credit cards by using envelope budgeting.
Mvelopes Cons
- The Mvelopes subscription is relatively expensive.
- No guaranteed application speed. Mvelopes pages can and will load slowly under some conditions, regardless of the speed of your Internet connection.
- Must call customer service to cancel free trial or credit card is billed.
- Reports not as refined as in more fully-featured personal finance software.
- Not having your data localized on your computer takes data security out of your control. However, most online software has much higher data security than found on most home computers and Mvelopes uses the latest encryption technology and other measures to protect data.
Bottom Line on Mvelopes
I have reservations about the Mvelopes prepaid subscription, so I am giving it 3.5 stars out of 5. That said, this Mvelopes review in PCWorld indicates that Mvelopes is an excellent budgeting tool with great tech support. Read up on the advantages of using online personal finance software, and if you are still interested in Mvelopes and do not mind having to enter your credit card number to use the free trial, give Mvelopes a try for a month. If you currently use personal finance software, keep using it during the trial in case you decide Mvelopes is not for you.Other software that works with the envelope budgeting concept is Budget by Snowmint Creative Solutions for Mac and Windows, and You Need A Budget Pro. Both are desktop personal finance software packages.
Mvelopes is now Finicity Money Manager.
