Question: What is New in Microsoft Money 2006?

New features and improvements in Microsoft Money 2006 are listed below.

While there are some nice new features in Microsoft Money 2006 along with some good improvements, it is not worth upgrading to Money 2006 if you use Money 2005. However, Microsoft Money 2006 will be a nice upgrade for those using versions of Microsoft Money before 2005.

Answer:

Improved in Microsoft Money 2006

Spending Tracker: Known as Favorite Categories in earlier versions, the Spending Tracker helps you monitor key areas of spending and provides instant insight on expense categories that are over and under budget. Now track as many categories as you like, unlike earlier versions of Microsoft Money.

Transaction and account matching: Microsoft Money 2006 makes it even easier to match your downloaded transactions to your account register so that you can keep accounts up-to-date.

Portfolio stock pricing: Automated price quotes keep portfolio calculations up-to-date and help generate accurate return on investment (ROI) information. The new Get Price button assists with entering accurate investment prices based on date.

New Features in Microsoft Money 2006

Exchange-Traded Funds (ETF) Center: Learn about and follow the ETF market in the Exchange-Traded Funds Center, where news, quotes, SEC filings, and more are at your fingertips.

Pay multiple bills online at one time: You can review a summary of the bills that need to be paid and then send the transactions to your bill payment service after you approve them.

Back up to CD: This is the best new feature in Microsoft Money 2006. You can save a copy of your Microsoft Money file to a CD for safekeeping. Although Microsoft Money automatically saves changes to your files and creates backup files on your hard disk, it's a good idea to regularly back up your Microsoft Money files to CD or DVD and keep them in a safe place.
