Print Checks in Quicken

Write Checks preferences in Quicken effects how checks are printed. You do not need select any preferences unless you will be printing checks with Quicken.

Printed date style: Set preference to 4-digit or 2-digit year, for example, 2008 or 08.

Check Settings:

  • Spell currency units. Quicken will spell out the currency unit in the second amount field, for example, One Hundred Dollars Only or One Hundred Only.

  • Allow entry of extra message on check. Use this option to print a message on checks in an area that cannot be seen when check is mailed in a window envelope. Add messages to checks from the Write Checks window by clicking on Cash Flow menu, then click Write Checks.

  • Print categories on voucher checks. Print up to 16 lines of split transaction information on the voucher page that is attached to voucher checks.

  • Change date of checks to date when printed. Prints the print date on the check, not the transaction date as entered in a Quicken register.

Click on OK to save changes and close Quicken Preferences, or click on one of the other preference selections before saving changes.
