Choose Backup Options in Quicken 2004

Backup: Change Quicken’s automatic backup features.
  • Specify how many times you want Quicken 2004 to remind you to back up your Quicken data file. Backup your data to a disk, USB drive or CD regularly so your data can be recovered should you ever have a hard drive failure.
  • Set Maximum backup copies. The higher the number, the further back you would be able to go should you find a problem with your Quicken data file. The default of 5 is sufficient for most people.
  • Warn before overwriting old files. If checked will warn you before a new backup file overwrites an old backup file (backup files 1-5 if you left the maximum copies at the default). Most people should uncheck this.
