Quicken Transaction Attachments are indicated in the register by the paperclip icon.

Image files can be attached to individual cash flow transactions in Quicken. Attach scanned images of checks or receipts, digital images of online receipts, or digital photos of items purchased.

Remember that only cash flow transactions can have attachments in Quicken, you cannot attach images to investment accounts. Attaching images to Quicken Accounts only works in Quicken Deluxe, Premier, or Premier Home & Business. If you need to upgrade from Quicken Basic, see Adding Features to Quicken

Before you can attach an image to a Quicken transaction, you must have the image saved on your computer.

  1. Select the transaction to attach the image to.

  2. Click the paper clip on the right end of the second row of the transaction, next to Enter, Edit, Split.

  3. Attachment selections will pop up. Select Attach Check, Attach Receipt or Attach Other Image.

  4. The Quicken Transaction Attachment window opens. Click Add Attachment, found on the middle bottom of the screen or click on ‘Click here to attach one’ near the top of the screen.

  5. A window will pop up to allow you to navigate through folders on your computer to find the file to attach. Once you locate the file, select it and click on Open.

  6. You will now see the image in the Transaction Attachments window. You may close the viewer by clicking on Close Viewer or on the red X in the upper right corner, or you may add more attachments.

  7. If you wish to add either or both of the other attachment types, choose the corresponding tabs (Check Image, Receipt/Bill Image, Other Attachment) at the top of the page and use steps 3 – 5 to complete your attachments in Quicken.
