Start New Quicken File and Keep Categories
You can start over in Quicken with an empty data file and keep the scheduled transactions, memorized transactions, transaction groups, and categories from your current Quicken data file.
Quicken File Copy Command
Use the Quicken File Copy command to make a copy of your data file. You can specify the date range and some other options for transactions included in your new Quicken data file.
Quicken - Year End Archive Command in Quicken
The Quicken Year End Archive command makes a copy of transactions prior to and including a date you specify. Archiving is a personal preference and not a requirement.
Quicken - New Year File Command in Quicken
When you create a Quicken New Year file, Quicken makes copy of the current data file, then removes all data before a particular date from that file. Once a Quicken New Year file is created, your current Quicken data file will include only transactions that occur after the date you specify.
