Once you get started with TaxCut Free File Online, you simply answer questions in the TaxCut interview (TaxCut Free File does not support transferring tax data from last year's return). You will start with your personal information and filing status (single, married - joint, etc.), then enter your income. From there, TaxCut Online tells you about adjustments to income and helps you to decide which deductions and tax credits you are eligible for.
TaxCut has built-in error checking to catch mistakes you may make while preparing your tax return. You also get the benefit of TaxCut's Worry-free Audit Support: in the unlikely event you are audited, you will receive professional assistance from H&R Block. TaxCut Free File Online requires you to e-file your return, which is more secure and accurate than mailing a return to the IRS. You will get your tax refund sooner when you file electronically as well.
You must have an AGI of $52,000 or less and be 50 years of age or younger to use TaxCut Free File. TaxCut Free File does not support transferring tax data from last year's return.
TaxCut FreeFile is for federal income tax preparation, but you can prepare your state return for an additional $29.95. See the TaxCut Online web site if you need to file state part-year/non-resident forms as not all states are supported.
