- Call Jott - even from the parking lot at the grocery store - and tell it to send a message to Expenses, then say, "Safeway, $15.95 groceries, $7.25 pet supplies, $4.50 lunch".
- Your message will be delivered to the Expenses folder on Jott and to your email.
- Download transactions in your financial software later on and open your email or your Jott Expenses folder to see how to divide the expense your financial software categorized entirely under Groceries.

There are other ways to use Jott to help with recording and categorizing your transactions:- Instead of using one Expenses folder, set up folders named for financial accounts such as Checking or Master Card. Specify which folder your text message should go to when you call Jott to record the transaction reminder.
