Search Transactions in Microsoft Money Using the Find Function

The easiest way to do a quick, simple search in Microsoft Money is to use the standard Windows shortcut to start the Find function.

  1. Start the search in Microsoft Money using Ctrl + F (hold down the Ctrl key, press the F key then release both the Ctrl and F keys).

  2. Enter the text or numbers you want to search for in the box next to Find this text.

  3. Leave the In this field box at the default setting of Any text field, or click the small arrow head on the right side of the box and select from Account, Category or other options to narrow the search.

  4. Select Up or Down next to Direction to search in either direction from where you are at in the account register. In other words, if you are at the top of the account register you need to search down.

  5. When Microsoft Money finds a transaction with the search parameters you entered, it will highlight the transaction. If this is the transaction you need, close Find. If you need to keep searching through transactions, click on Find Next.

  6. You can also do a simple search on specific account types by clicking on Advanced on the lower left in the Find box to bring up Microsoft Money Search and Replace.
