How To Change Microsoft Money Electronic Payment Dates in Registers

By Shelley Elmblad, About.com

By default, Microsoft Money Plus enters electronic payments into the account register using the date the payment is processed. Depending on your financial institution, the payment may not actually be withdrawn from your account on this date but you still cannot cancel the payment after this date.

If you prefer, you can set up Microsoft Money to use the due date or the date funds are withdrawn from the account (whichever is earlier) at your financial institution instead. Here is how to set up Microsoft Money to use this date for electronic payments in your account register:

Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 1 minute

Here's How:

  1. In Money, click on Tools at the top of the screen.

  2. Click on Online Settings.

  3. Remove the check box next to Enter electronic payments in the register with the processing date

  4. Click on OK.

Tips:

  1. Of course, if you prefer to have electronic payment dates in your Microsoft Money register to show the payment processing date, you would follow the same procedure but click the check box to activate this feature.

  2. After you set the date for electronic payments in your Microsoft Money account register in this way, future payments in the account register will show either the earlier of the due date or the funds-withdrawal date for the transaction. Date for transactions entered before you make this change will not change.
