Microsoft Money Log In Problems

Is MSN Network Really the Trouble?

From Shelley Elmblad, for About.com

You may find from time to time that when you are trying to log into Windows Live ID to use Microsoft Money, you get a "password failed" message. You try to log on again, being very careful to key in your password correctly, and again your password fails.

The good news is that this inconvenience does not happen often, and even better news is that there may not be anything wrong with your Microsoft Money password. The MSN Money Network network needs occasional maintenance, and when this happens, log-ins have to be disabled. The MSN Money Network does not notify Microsoft Money users of scheduled maintenance, so you will not know when your Money log in is being blocked due to this maintenance.

The solution is to check the status of the MSN Money Network when you get unexplained log in errors by visiting the MSN Money Network Status page to determine if maintenance is hte issue. If maintenance is taking place on the network, try to log in later.

If there is no network maintenance taking place on the MSN Money Network, you may have forgotten your exact Microsoft Money password. If this is the case, check out tips for lost Microsoft Money Passwords for help.
