The envelopes you set up are your budget categories, and you'll also set up accounts for entering your checking, savings and debit and charge cards - any account you receive income in or make purchases and pay bills from. Transactions can be split between multiple envelopes, and deposits can be represented by one envelope or you can split the income between envelopes to allocate the money to how you want to spend it. Funds can be transferred between accounts or envelopes.
