Definition: OEM stand for Original Equipment Manufacturer. OEM financial software packages are those sold to computer manufacturers for inclusion on new systems. Often, OEM software does not include full functionality and is produced to give the new PC buyer an idea of how the software works in hopes that the user will buy or upgrade to the full financial software package.
Pronunciation: oh - ee - em
Also Known As: OEM software, OEM download
Examples: My new PC included a copy of Quicken Basic, but since it is an OEM copy I can only set up 3 accounts.
