In Quicken, click on File menu > Passwords > File. Type the password of your choice in the Password field.
Keep in mind:
- The Quicken file password can be any combination of letters and numbers, up to 15 characters long.
- Quicken passwords are case sensitive: if you designate 53JK9 as your Quicken file password, you will need to capitalize the J and K each time you enter your password. The password 53jk9 is not the same as 53JK9.
- Choose passwords carefully. Quicken file passwords cannot be retrieved once set, and can only be removed by Intuit Data Services for a fee.
