How To Enter Stock Splits, Spin-Offs, or Mergers in Microsoft Money

Microsoft Money makes entering special investment transactions such as transfers, splits, spin-offs, or mergers very simple. Microsoft Money walks you through entering each transaction.

Time Required: About 5 minutes per transaction, depending on documentation of transactions on-hand.

Here's How:

  1. Click on the Investing tab in Microsoft Money.
  2. Click on Portfolio Manager, found on the left side bar under Investing Tools.
  3. In the left pane under Other Tasks, find and click on ‘Record a special activity’.
  4. Select the option you want to enter in Microsoft Money.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen using the drop down boxes to record information relevant to the transaction.
  6. Click on OK, your transaction is saved in your Microsoft Money investment register.
