Bad News for Adaptu Users

Track your bills on Adaptu's spending calendar. One of my favorite free online personal finance and budgeting apps, Adaptu, announced yesterday that it is going away on February 20, 2013. It sounds like Adaptu wasn't succeeding as a free app, and the company was reluctant to go to a paid model at a time when online financial software that once was subscription based is switching to the freebie model.

Update 2/5/2013: Here's what you need to do next with your Adaptu account, and CalendarBudget has designed a way for you to easily import your data to that free online budgeting software service.

See my online personal finance software list for 14 alternatives to Adaptu.

It’s always sad to see a company close it doors.

It’s a ton of effort to setup your budgets and money plans – I’d like to save you the effort of starting over… so, we welcome you to come try CalendarBudget.com.

Adaptu users will like the familiar calendar-based format of CalendarBudget.

In fact, if someone emails me a copy of their Adaptu CSV export, I’ll write a special import feature so Adaptu users can migrate their data to CalendarBudget so you can continue with minimal rework.
