If you used CompleteTax online tax software to file last year's income tax return, you'll find that this year, it's in the midst of being renamed eSmart Tax. eSmart Tax already existed as a separate tax software option, but it looks like Liberty Tax (owner of eSmart Tax) has purchased or otherwise taken over CompleteTax. I took a quick look at eSmart Tax/CompleteTax, and CompleteTax fans will be happy to see that the software looks and behaves like last year's CompleteTax. eSmart Tax users shouldn't mind this change because CompleteTax was easier to use than eSmart Tax was in the past.
Whether you go to the website for eSmart Tax or CompleteTax, you're getting the same income tax preparation experience.
Hopefully, you're not terribly confused by that explanation! See CompleteTax / eSmart Tax 2012 Versions, Features and Prices to find out what you get for your money this year.
