One of the things we are reminded in when going through tough economic times is the importance of teaching kids how to manage money so they spend and save wisely sooner rather than later. Software that teaches kids about money makes learning fun, and kids are more likely to remember money facts if they learn them in an interactive, engaging way. Whether you are a parent, guardian or teacher, you need to check out my list of free or low-cost money education software for kids. Each has a unique feature that may be especially appealing to your child.

Couldn’t agree more, these are great suggestions, great article. As a single parent that was *less* than good with money throughout my youth, teaching children about money is CRUCIAL, in my mind. I’m not going to blame parents, schools, etc, but quite simply, I clearly “didn’t get it”, and I am still paying for those mistakes a decade later! And quite frankly, I hate the position I got myself in, everytime I pay off my past debts… I could have used my time/money so much better.
