Online personal finance software that automatically updates accounts usually uses the same security that banks and other financial institutions do with your data. Still, quite a few people do not want to manage your money with online financial software, but what if your own bank or credit union offered an online personal finance management app? Would you trust it?

A lot of the people who are using Digital Insight's FinanceWorks through their financial institution say that they feel more comfortable with using FinanceWorks to manage their accounts online. Since FinanceWorks launched in mid-September, nearly 90 banks and credit unions have gone live or began implementation, and another 450 financial institutions are planning to offer FinanceWorks soon.

FinanceWorks looks very similar to Quicken Online, which is not surprising, considering that Digital Insight is now a part of Intuit. FinanceWorks lets you manage all your accounts and your budget online through your trusted bank or credit union. If your bank or credit union does not offer FinanceWorks, you may find that other online tools are at your disposal, so be sure to check your financial institution's web site.
