Mint.com Adds SMS Features

Wednesday November 19, 2008
Mint free online personal finance software has nearly 600,000 users. That's a fantastic number considering that Mint.com is a relatively new concept in personal finance management, and I think Mint has become so popular because truly useful features continue to be added.

Today Mint added a feature to allow users to see an overview of their entire net worth on SMS-enabled phones and devices from wherever they are. Mint users need only text "Bal" or “Balance” to shortcode “MyMint” (696468) to receive real-time balances for the checking, savings, credit union and investment accounts tracked using Mint.com. With Mint currently supporting over 7,500 financial institutions, a lot of Mint users can use this new SMS feature to avoid overdrafts and maximize credit card reward points.
