Should You Manage Your Money Online or on Your Desktop Computer?

Friday October 3, 2008
I asked my regular readers if they would switch to using online financial software, or if they are considering making the switch. From the results, it looks like the vote is slanted toward using desktop computer software to manage money. The primary concern is security of online financial software, but I have to wonder how many people are using an unsecured wireless networks at home? If your router is not set up correctly, you have more risk of someone hacking into your data than you do with online software.

Then there is the fact that most people forget to back up their data, while data is regularly backed up with online financial software.

I am not suggesting that online software is perfect. But it definitely is a viable solution for many people.
