Free Zero Based Budgets Spreadsheet

Sunday January 6, 2008
D*Y*I Planner member supenguin has created a free budgeting spreadsheet for employing the zero based budget concept made popular by Dave Ramsey. In a nutshell, the zero based budgeting system is built on the idea that total income minus total expenses and savings should equal $0 each month.

The worksheets in the free Zero Based Budgets Spreadsheet include:

  • Directions for using the spreadsheet.
  • A worksheet for each month where you enter planned and actual income, expenses and savings.
  • Year Overview worksheet with planned and actual income and expense and differences for each month.
  • Average planned expenses worksheet with emergency savings needs calculations.

You can download the free Zero Based Budgets spreadsheet, which works with Microsoft Excel, Open Office Calc, NeoOffice or iWork '08 Numbers. And, check out supenguin's personal finance blog for clear thinking on money management ideas.

D*Y*I Planner is a fantastic web site with advice for getting organized and tons of templates for printing out your own planner pages.
