PayPal Plug-In Adds Security to Holiday Shopping

PayPal will be releasing a nifty little free plug-in for your web browser some time on November 20, 2007. The PayPal Plug-In makes online shopping easier and safer by generating temporary MasterCard credit card numbers at the same time you check out at your favorite online shopping sites.

I have a couple of credit card providers that have tools for generating temporary credit cards so I don't need to use my real credit card numbers all over the Internet. But to use these temporary credit cards, I have to interrupt my online shopping by opening another browser window and logging on to the credit card provider's site.

Getting a temporary credit card number with the PayPal Plug-In is less of a hassle because the plug-in resides right in your browser toolbar and does not require you to open another browser window to go to a separate web site. The PayPal Plug-In also lets you know if you are on a fraudulent web site, saves receipts for you and lets you set up multi-use temporary MasterCard credit card numbers for those sites you frequently shop at.

Check out my PayPal Plug-In profile to learn more about the nifty features. You will be able to download the PayPal Plug-In on November 20, 2007.
