Microsoft Money Banking Services Update

Monday July 23, 2007
On July 19, 2007, online banking services were updated for Microsoft Money. This update is required for Money 2005, 2006 and 2007.

If you haven't tried to update account balances since July 19, the next time you do you will be met with a dialog asking you to apply a serious and critical upgrade for Money. Back up your Microsoft Money data before you start! Depending upon how you have set up your accounts in Microsoft Money, you may need to set them up again following these instructions. The instructions are nicely laid out with screen shots, but the final step - 'Troubleshooting' - looks disconcerting even for experienced Microsoft Money users.

Some Microsoft Money users are having problems logging in using their Passport or Windows Live ID on Windows 98 and ME systems, which prevents access to some files that use Passport. While Microsoft recommends considering an update to your operating system, a less pricey option is to follow the directions given on MSN Money Network Status under the heading, "Cannot sign into with your Windows Live ID (Passport) on Windows 98 or Windows ME".
