College Budgeting Software

Thursday September 21, 2006
You have been away at college for a few weeks by now. Do you find your funds are drying up sooner than you planned? Maybe it is time to set up a college budget.

If you have used a budget to manage your personal finances before attending college, you may find as I did that the same budget strategy doesn't work while you're in school. Your priorities are different, your expenses are different and your income is probably very different.

While you may feel that you don't have enough funds to set up a budget, this is the very reason why college students need a budget: to stretch the dollars and to be sure spending is in line with your personal priorities (which may or may not be the same as your party-hardy room mate's priorities). There is low-priced software that can help you to make quick work of budgeting and personal finance planning now while you are in college and then into the future. Many of these software packages can help you to compare salaries from job offers with how much income is required to live in the area you choose after graduation as well.

Read up on simple software solutions college students can use to keep a budget and learn fiscal responsibility.
