Manage Your Receipts

See more software for managing receipts

The Wall Street Journal Online recently published a review of Scanalyzer by Jeremy Wagstaff. Scanalyzer from Neat Receipts is a combination of a thin, portable scanner and software that not only scans receipts for digital storage, but also reads text, dates and costs from a receipt and tucks this information safely away in a database. The Scanalyzer software also lets you designate a receipt as a tax-related expense in the data base to help with tax reporting. The Neat Receipts Scanalyzer scanner comes with it's own USB, so it packs lightly. Just plug it into the USB port on your computer and it won't even require it's own power adapter.

Neat Receipts Scanalyzer is great for on-the-road business types, but would also be excellent for small businesses or frequent travelers. Those who are overwhelmed with the whistles and bells in today's personal finance software may be able to replace traditional personal finance software with Scanalyzer.

I used to use a scanalyzer, but I switched to getting my receipts scanned for me by Shoeboxed

I was spending too much time scanning my receipts, which was detrimental to my productivity every friday morning. I’m very happy with this new site, because I don’t scan my receipts - they do, and I can see all of the receipts online!
