TaxCut the Best Tax Software - A Matter of Opinion

Thursday February 16, 2006
The review TaxCut is The Best Tax Program hit the AP news service last night and has now been published in a variety of blogs and online newspapers. The reviewer came to the conclusion that TaxCut was the best tax software after trying out three tax prep programs, TaxCut, TurboTax and TaxAct. She came to the conclusion that TaxCut was the best of the three because it came up with $12 more in deductions and it was "the most intuititive".

When someone refers to software as being intuitive, I think of easier navigation to get around the program while finding the functions I need the software to perform. That said, I do not agree with the reviewer. TurboTax has an updated interface this year that navigates fantastically. The About Taxes guide, William Perez agrees with me in his Top 5 Tax Software. William picked up on the reviewer making some serious mistakes in her evaluation of tax software as well.
